Governance

Why Do We Need Governance?

The practice of governance ensures that we fulfil our mission and our responsibilities to our service users, stakeholders and community. Our Board of Directors govern Keystage C.I.C. in line with the following:

The National Housing Federation Code of Governance – this code set out the practice for the industry and provides the framework required for us to ensure we are accountable. In 2024 Keystage C.I.C. formally adopted the NHF Code of Governance and is operating in line with the latest edition

The Governance Self-assessment – the self-assessment framework assesses our practice against the National Housing Federation Code of Governance

Our Board and Committees

Our Board is formed of suitably experienced individuals who bring a wealth of knowledge to our practice. Each applicant completes a skills assessment which is assessed by our Board Chair and Director before they are invited to a formal introduction.

During their time with us on the Keystage C.I.C. Board, our members receive a thorough induction to the company, an opportunity to meet our stakeholders and visit all our services, regular self-reflection and appraisals.

As well as our board members, we also invite key members of staff to our board to give reports and updates on the on service operations.

Alongside our quarterly board meetings we also hold regular committees which take on tasks and report their activities back to the board as a whole. These committees are:
